Our Spicers partnership was crucial in national account win

In March 2013 Excel Office Supplies approached a national bank with the view of pitching for their national stationery contract, worth approximately £300k pa. Ian Horler, Managing Director of Excel explained:
“We approached Spicers who supported us with contract pricing and marketing support. This raised our profile and we found ourselves short listed for a presentation at the Bank’s HQ.
In May 2014 myself and Mark Watson, Regional Sales Director of Spicers did a joint presentation to the procurement team – we were up against competition 50 times our size, but the joint strategy worked. Excel Office Supplies ticked the customer care, IT and support requirements and Spicers ticked the robust, scalable logistic handling requirements.
In June we started supplying the contract and would like to thank Spicers for their support. We are now looking at targeting larger customers knowing that we have a complete solution to offer.”
